Groar!
El arte del lenguaje.
Presentation of the album Groar: The Art of Language by sound artist Juanjosé Rivas, a 12-inch vinyl with 10 sound pieces recorded in the studio of the BEMIS Center for Contemporary Arts, Omaha, Nebraska. This album explores and deconstructs language in a playful and radical way in which different practices linked to reappropriation and sampling coexist. Through techniques such as turntablism, sampling, backmasking and hacking of electronic devices, Juanjosé Rivas offers us a complex interweaving of different media and artistic languages to question the prevailing textuality and sonority and build a sound universe in which the limits are diluted and the language is revealed as a continuous elastic and unstable construction.
Presentation concert of the album with guest musicians, in which some of the pieces of the album will be reinterpreted as a translation. Performance action that combines dance, percussions, electronic media, turntables and voice.
