VOLTA ABISMAL
After more than 10 years of activities and three international festivals, VOLTA has positioned itself as an obligatory reference in the Mexican and international scene with more than 100 artists and projects from all over the world which have been presented in the different activities carried out in different institutions and spaces such as the Laboratorio de Arte Alameda, the Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico, Centro de Cultura Digital, Museo Ex Teresa Arte Actual, Vernacular Institute gallery and many others.
For this year 2023 and with the support of the British Council in Mexico and Casa del Lago, UNAM. VOLTA will hold its fourth festival titled VOLTA ABISMAL whose thematic axes will revolve around questions about the impact of technology, science in the development of art and the urgency to promote a critical sense regarding the use of our material resources and their environmental impact.
For three days (April 27-29, 2023) the facilities of Casa del Lago “Juan José Arreola” of the UNAM will be our venue to enjoy concerts, lectures, and presentations by 10 artists from the UK and Mexico, whose artistic practices range from experimental music, bioacoustics, sound art, electronic art, soundscape and techno-scientific research.
